The Wrong House is een artist-run initiatief dat een platform biedt voor presentatie en reflectie gericht op beeldende kunst. “The Wrong House” werd in 2019 opgericht door Jonas Vansteenkiste met de bedoeling een tentoonstelling platform te vormen gericht op de relevantie van kunst door middel van interdisciplinaire kunstvormen en actuele kwesties. Geïnspireerd door de sterke overtuiging dat kunst een reactie is op wat er in de maatschappij gebeurt.
De naam “the wrong house” is een eerbetoon aan het boek van Steven Jacobs over Hitchcock en architectuur. De tentoonstellingsruimte en kantoren zijn gevestigd in Kortrijk (BE). We produceren tentoonstellingen in onze galerie of organiseren projecten in lokale of culturele contexten van steden en instellingen. Onze visie is samenwerken en participeren met verschillende partners en een breed publiek.

The Wrong House is an artist-run initiative that provides a platform for presentation and reflection focused on visual arts. “The Wrong House” was founded in 2019 by Jonas Vansteenkiste with the intention of forming an exhibition platform focused on the relevance of art through interdisciplinary art forms and current issues. Inspired by the strong belief that art is a response to what is happening in society.
The name “the wrong house” is a tribute to Steven Jacobs’ book about Hitchcock and architecture. The exhibition space and offices are located in Kortrijk (BE). We produce exhibitions in our gallery or organize projects in local or cultural contexts of cities and institutions. Our vision is to collaborate and participate with different partners and a wide audience.
