De tentoonstelling from the inside out verbindt de nabije omgeving, de stedelijke context en uitgestrekte landschappen met de wonderlijke verbeeldingskracht van de mens. Steeds duidelijker blijkt hoe er gezocht wordt naar narratieve alternatieven en vernieuwende denk- en maakprocessen. De werken van deze kunstenaars zijn dan ook een uiting van deze zoektocht: waar Bram Van Breda vanuit recuperatiemateriaal impressies verbeeldt in textiele materie, onderzoekt Michaël de Kok vanuit zijn verwondering de gelaagdheden van het hedendaagse landschapsbeeld.
Op zaterdag 26 oktober om 16:00 gaat Els Wuyts met beide kunstenaars in gesprek tijdens het Kortrijk Art Weekend.
About the exhibition (EN)
The exhibition from the inside out connects the immediate environment, the urban context and vast landscapes with the wondrous imagination of humanity. It is becoming increasingly clear how narrative alternatives and innovative thinking and creation processes are being sought. The works of these artists are therefore an expression of this search: where Bram Van Breda depicts impressions in textile matter from reclaimed materials, Michaël de Kok explores the layers of contemporary landscape imagery from his own wonderment.
On Saturday 26 October at 16:00, Els Wuyts will engage in a conversation with both artists during Kortrijk Art Weekend.

Langs de Doornstraat, in een volledig nieuw ingerichte tentoonstellingsruimte van Fondart, in de schaduw van Texture museum aan de Leie, is Hilde Vandaele Gallery te gast. Terwijl haar galerie voor hedendaagse kunst gelegen is in het kunstenaarsdorp Watou in de Westhoek, kiest ze voor deze gelegenheid de levendige binnenstad als uitvalsbasis. Net zoals in haar paviljoen van hout en glas is er in deze ruimte veel plaats voor de ingetogen sculpturen, installaties en schilderijen van Bram Van Breda (°1992, BE) en Michaël de Kok (°1958, NL). Voor het eerst worden de werken van deze twee kunstenaars, die elk een eigen taal en medium beheersen, samengebracht en met elkaar in dialoog geplaatst.

Along the Doornstraat, in a completely redesigned exhibition space of Fondart, in the shadow of Texture museum, Hilde Vandaele Gallery brings a new presentation. While her contemporary art gallery is located in the artists’ village of Watou in the Westhoek, she chooses the lively city centre as her base for this specific occasion. Just as in her pavilion of wood and glass, this venue has plenty of room for the sculptures, installations and paintings of Bram Van Breda (°1992, BE) and Michaël de Kok (°1958, NL). For the first time, the works of these two artists, each mastering their own language and medium, are brought together and placed in dialogue with each other.
