Hi, Lo-Tek

In the past cen­tu­ry human inno­va­ti­on has wit­nes­sed a mate­ri­als revo­lu­ti­on. As a result, the dai­ly objects and mate­ri­als we inter­act with today would be unre­cog­ni­za­ble to tho­se living during the First World War. The intro­duc­ti­on of com­pu­ter aided design has fur­ther pus­hed our sha­red expe­rien­ce of objects towards new aes­the­tics. In res­pon­se to this swift evo­lu­ti­on of our visu­al and tac­ti­le expe­rien­ce, Frock Gal­lery has cura­ted, ​“Hi, Lo-Tek.” A con­tem­po­ra­ry art exhi­bi­ti­on fea­tu­ring artists using low-tech pro­ces­ses to pro­du­ce inno­va­ti­ve results and others using High-tech mate­ri­als and pro­ces­ses to pro­du­ce novel­ty works.
